Have you ever heard people refer to the church that they attend regularly as their “church home”? Well we certainly have and here at Hope, we’ve decided that each time we gather it will be our goal to provide an environment where our people can truly feel comfortable, almost like they’re at home so that they can more easily connect with others and with God!
Here’s what that means to us (and to you if you’re visiting):
- All people, from all different backgrounds and walks of life are welcome at Hope!
- Our Sunday service starts at 10:30am and ends promptly at noon, sometimes earlier to give us time to hang out with one another.
- Some of our friendly team members will greet you at the door and you’ll receive a copy of our bulletin that has information on the important things going on that week.
- In our Foyer area, music is usually playing, people are mingling, our Café is always open and we have plenty of gathering areas (comfy couches, café tables etc) for you to enjoy! There’s signage that will help you find areas like the sanctuary, restrooms, church office, and nursing mother’s area. There is also a welcome center that you can stop by if you have any questions or need further information.
- If you have children, you are welcome to bring them into the service with you, take them to our family room (coming soon) where you can watch the service on tv while they play or you can check them in at Hope Island, our fantastic nursery and children’s area!
- If you check in your children at Hope Island, you’ll fill out a brief form, receive documentation that you need to present in order to pick up your child and will be notified of our procedures for contacting you in case of emergency. All of our workers are thoroughly background checked!
- That brings us to our actual service, where we like to have a good time and laugh with each other often! We’ve been known to change things up on a regular basis, but you can typically expect a few brief announcements, some great contemporary worship music from our band (we like it a little loud) and lots of video and other media integration. There will also be a concise, yet dynamic Biblical teaching and sometimes an opportunity for questions or response. We will usually take one offering and at some point will ask everyone to fill out a brief card that helps us keep track of attendance and prayer requests.
- At Hope, we like to think of our Sanctuary as our living room and who wants to hang out in a living room where they can’t relax? That means you’re welcome to worship however you feel comfortable, eat and drink and even tweet about the entire service if you’d like!
- After service, you can visit tables in the back of the sanctuary for info on our current happenings, and stop by the welcome center in the foyer on your way out for a facility tour, answers to any questions you may have and a free gift.
- We often get asked about what we people should wear to our services and we highly suggest clothing! Seriously, feel free to wear whatever you’d like to our services. We just want you to come as you are and be comfortable!
We’d love it if you’d come for a visit soon!
We’re convinced that your little ones will LOVE Hope Island! It’s an awesome environment that is brightly decorated and full of many fun activities! It’s also completely safe. Parents can have peace of mind leaving their children in our care since we always have at least 2 adults in every room, all workers are required to pass a thorough background check and we have several individuals available that are certified in infant and child CPR. When you check in, you can expect to fill out a brief form with information on your child, receive documentation that you will need to present in order to pick up your child and be provided with instructions on how we will notify you in case of an emergency. We even have an area where you can leave and park your strollers if you’d like to!
We also want you to know that here at Hope, your little ones are welcome to stay in the service with you! In fact, many of our parents will often bring their children into the service to participate in the worship music and then take them over to Hope Island!

Salt & Light- is the food pantry ministry of Hope Church. Every Sunday we provide boxes of food for families in need. If you find yourself in a difficult spot like many others do right now, then visit us on Sunday at 10:30 am and we'll have a box of food ready for you immediately following the service. Simply fill out the yellow Salt & Light request form when you arrive and place it in the box at the Information Center, and your box of food will be waiting for you after the service.
Missions - Hope Church supports foreign missions in places where the Gospel is not welcome. We currently support a missionary family who are serving in an undiscosed location in the North Africa as well as a missionary ministering to the underground church in China. We also believe that it is important for our local church family to be involved in short-term missions projects around the world.

Lead Pastors
Justin & Suzie Barbour
Assiociate Pastors
Pastor Justin and Suzie met when they were in their high school youth group and Suzie’s first thought was that Justin was the best looking nerd she had ever seen! He says he instantly fell in love with her “slightly crazy, Italian personality”! They very quickly became best friends and in July of 2006 they were married. Justin graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry from Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, and later went back to Southeastern to receive his Master’s in Business Administration. Suzie studied Journalism and Elementary Education at the University of South Florida and also has her Director’s Credential in Early Childhood Education.
Throughout their ministry experience thus far, Justin and Suzie have had the privilege of leading in various aspects of ministry including youth, children’s, nursery, men’s, women’s, local outreach, discipleship programs, young adults, missions and administration. Since graduating college, they have both also worked bi-vocationally in the Tampa Marketplace. Suzie was previously the Executive Support Manager with Peter Lowe at Get Motivated Seminars and is currently an Executive Administrator at CLW Commercial Real Estate Group in Tampa. Justin is the Finance Director for the Presbyterian Homes and Housing Foundation of Florida.
On December 6th of 2010, Justin and Suzie’s first son, Kingston, was born. He also went to heaven that same day. Although this was one of the most challenging experiences of their life, both Justin and Suzie will tell you it has by far been the best thing that’s ever happened to them. God has done some amazing things through Kingston’s story and as his parents, Justin and Suzie have a passion for continuing to tell that story.
When they’re not working or hanging out at church, they both love to read, write, spend time with their large families and soak up the Florida sunshine at our great beaches! Suzie loves cooking and Justin is, by far, her number one fan and taste tester. They’ve also been known to have a love for good ole’ reality TV shows, and of course, football!
After completing his undergraduate studies, Pastor Rob began his ministry career as the youth pastor at his home church in Stevenson, Washington. In 2001, he accepted a position at the national office of Open Bible Churches in Des Moines, Iowa. He made the move to the Midwest to start and direct a short-term mission’s program, Global Outreaches Unlimited, for youth and young adults and led evangelistic and humanitarian outreaches all over the world.
Meanwhile, Megan, a native of Iowa via Kentucky, graduated from Evangel University with her Bachelor’s in Marketing and Management. Upon graduation, she moved back home to Iowa and worked as an Account Representative for John Deere Health.
In 2002, their paths finally crossed at church, and one year later Rob and Megan were married.
In 2005, they moved to Colorado Springs so Rob could pursue his Master’s Degrees in Global Leadership and Theology at the Fuller Theological Seminary extension while Megan worked as the Executive Assistant to a Christian recording artist. During their time in Colorado, they enjoyed renovating their 1896 Victorian house and hiking, camping and snowboarding when time would allow.
Pastor Rob joined the staff of Hope Church as Lead Pastor in 2007. Since their move to Florida, Pastor Rob and Megan have been growing the church the old fashioned way by adding to their family. They are the proud parents of Hudson, four, and Harper, one.
When not at Hope Church, the Leitheisers enjoy hanging out at the beach, grabbing a quick lunch at Chick-fil-A, reading, and watching football, Pac-12 of course!
